Located west of volcanic Lake Toba, Northern Sumatra produces one of the most remarkable Sumatran coffees in the world.

With its spicy earthiness, sparkling green apple acidity, and flavours of honeycomb, nutmeg, and lime, Indo Wahana Toba is a full-bodied, complex coffee that stands apart from the crowd.

Indonesia's North Sumatra region is home to the renowned Wahana Estate, a standout producer known for exceptional coffee. Nestled at an altitude of 1,300 to 1,500 metres above sea level, the estate cultivates two prized varietals, Rasuna and Bourbon.

These beans undergo a traditional Wet Hulled process, or Giling Basah, a hallmark of Indonesian coffee production, which imparts a distinct flavour profile with earthy, herbal, and spicy notes.

Cherries are picked during the peak of harvest, then washed and pulped. They are fermented in a fermentation tank, then subsequently washed to become wet parchment. These parchments are dried to a moisture level of approximately 30%, then hulled (“Wet Hulled”) and dried to their final stage. The coffees are hand-picked and sorted for export.
