A Special Partnership: Supporting our Neighbours in East Timor
Behind the beans lies a story of resilience and progress. The cooperative responsible for farming these exceptional beans, Cooperativa Cafe Timor, emerged in the aftermath of East Timor's struggle for independence from Indonesia in 1999. Witnessing the destruction left behind, the cooperative was established to rebuild and empower the local community.
Today, Cooperativa Cafe Timor boasts an impressive membership of over 19,600 individuals. The cooperative has made significant strides in improving the lives of its members.
Through their initiatives, they have implemented crucial healthcare services, provided valuable business management programs, facilitated language lessons, and offered computer training.
By supporting Timorese Kolega Coffee, you contribute to the ongoing progress and empowerment of the cooperative's members. Enjoy a remarkable cup of coffee while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have persevered and triumphed over adversity.
