Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is world renowned for its exceptional quality. Shade grown beneath the canopy of a tropical rainforest, this coffee is complex with a smooth mellow finish that elevates it above others.
It makes a silky smooth brew with no bitterness - some might say perfect - and it has an intense aroma which is undeniably premium.
JAMAICA BLUE - A RARE BEAN
Jamaica Blue coffee plants are grown in one of six of the world's best coffee growing regions.
To get to market, this bean must pass strictly controlled, rigorous examinations conducted by the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board. It is hand examined and graded by its size. Then during the cupping and evaluation of these beans, quality controls determine which beans get exported.
The higher quality beans are exported while the lower quality beans are kept and used within Jamaica.
UNIQUE GROWING CONDITIONS
Jamaica Blue coffee is grown in a small area in the east of Jamaica known as the Blue Mountains, approximately 1800 meters above sea level.
Beans grown under these conditions are packed with incredible flavours. This is largely due to the humid, foggy atmosphere and the beautiful rich volcanic soil.
While these conditions allow for the bean to be packed with incredible flavours, the Jamaica Blue coffee berries take much longer than the average bean to mature, approximately four years, which is double the average coffee maturing timeframe.
HOW TO BREW
To bring out the authentic taste of this bean, there are a few things to consider.
we recommend using filtered water to brew the coffee.
if using a pourover device, AeroPress or plunger we recommend not to use boiling water as it will spoil the taste. Bring water to the boil, then let it sit for 5 minutes before pouring.
as with all coffee beans, we recommend grinding as you go. Pre-grinding in bulk will result in a reduction in both flavour and aroma.

The best coffee I’ve ever tasted. Full flavour, nice acidity with no bitterness. It’s unfortunate that due to the price I can’t drink it on a regular basis.
